Situación actual de la Subestación eléctrica Rigolleau
Los vecinos autoconvocados de Berazategui llevan ya 8 largos años solicitando a las autoridades municipales, provinciales y nacionales, el traslado de la subestación eléctrica Rigolleau fuera del casco urbano. Durante todo ese tiempo no dejaron de peticionar a esos organismos administrativos y aún judiciales, para lograr el ansiado traslado, logrando que en el año 2006 el propio Intendente en ese entonces Juan José Mussi suscribiera una acta acuerdo comprometiéndose a acompañar el reclamo de los vecinos hasta las últimas consecuencias.
Este acuerdo fue vulnerado por el mismo funcionario pues en lugar de recurrir un fallo de la justicia adverso a los vecinos, hizo uso de la alternativa que le otorgaba el mismo tribunal que puso en sus manos aprobar o no el reinicio de las obras por Edesur: las obras siguieron y hoy ya se están realizando pruebas de funcionamiento de la planta. El reclamo de los vecinos pudo haber tenido una segunda oportunidad si el Dr. Juan José Mussi, devenido Secretario Nacional de Medio Ambiente, interviniera con ecuanimidad en este conflicto donde está en juego la salud y la vida de muchos habitantes, que fueron sus administrados y lo son aún con el actual intendente Patricio Mussi, trasladando de una vez por todas la conflictiva obra, honrando preceptos constitucionales y el Principio Precautorio, que recomiendan las normas sanitarias nacionales e internacionales.
La falta de respuestas, y ante la inminente puesta en marcha de la planta, motivó que las Madres de la Luz por la Vida de el Asamblea de Vecinos Autoconvocados por la Vida en Berazategui dirigieran, con fecha 4.5.2012, una Carta Abierta a la Presidente de La Nación. Sra. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Los reclamos vecinales están fundados por el peligro que entraña la precariedad de las obras realizadas por Edesur : colocación del cableado de alta tensión a poca distancia de las cañerías de la red pública de gas, por la falta de aislación de los cables tendidos a pocos metros de las viviendas vecinales y escuelas por un lado y por otro por las consecuencias que sobre la salud humana causará la contaminación electromagnética que producirá la subestación (de 132.000 Voltios), por la larga permanencia humana debajo de los campos de baja frecuencia.
